What has happened to Misco?
Been trying to get to www.misco.co.uk for the past few (several) days and just been getting timeouts.
Tried a TRACERT from my PC, and also via http://network-tools.com/ but they both show that once you hit "*.alter.net" it all goes pear shaped?
Anyone any idea what is wrong?

That is weird!
I can understand it if my ISP has got a messed up DNS or routing thinkgumajig, but for a completely separate (source) web-site to also fail at around the same spot seems very worrying.
Thanks for checking, and if you do get a moment can you try entering "www.misco.co.uk" at http://network-tools.com/ to seem what comes up.
Cheers,
mb
p.s. I still can't see Misco

I get this:
... which is odd, since the site itself loads perfectly OK.

Hopefully this is not "Merka" projecting its "business influence" on the ROTW
Cheers for checking

Not really could just be blocking those UDP packets at the firewall, but saying that I get an access denied error when I try to visit the site. Looks foo*ed to me.

I can still get on the site, but the tool times out at the same place.
I've visited these pages at random

http://www.misco.co.uk/product/Q6877...op-Notebook-PC

As for direct access, it is strange that most others can get there, but just you and me (so far) can't. Maybe they (or their parent company) are struggling?
Cheers,

I can finally access the website direct now but I cannot access any of your links above except the last one.
Very strange.
I tried a traceroute from a system in London and it gets blocked at the same point, so that must be a firewall.

ISP is Demon, who have been bought by Vodafone.
Frustratingly i still get their (Misco) markeing e-mails, and they contain links to e.misco.eu/XYZZY (which works for the embedded images, but if you browse to them it fails in the same way).
But if you browse to e.misco.eu it redirects to https://policy5.responsys.net/permission.htm.
Sounds like some web-bod at Misco has fecked-up? Such is the world of corporate takeovers

Sounds like an ISP filtering policy has gone awry. They are all doing a lot of work at the moment with filtering **** and torrents its not surprising there has been a mistake made.

If "what you see" is being manipulated by others (whether via the Interwebs, TV, radio or the press) then we really are entering dangerous times.

those links go via a 3rd party webgains.com - probably doing analytics or something

**** me - i can now get to http://www.misco.co.uk/ - with no changes "my side".
Sadly the product that i was after is more expensive (actually it is unavailable, but the next-up equivalent costs more) so it looks like Systemax has a business model heading directly for the toilet
