Internet Access From France
#3
Puff,
I went to Zante last week and we managed to find an internet cafe that had a router with a few spare LAN ports, we could have plugged a laptop into it and off we go It was ISDN and very slow, but we were chuffed to find it. We used the PCs in the internet cafe. Lol, quite primative
Cheers Phill C
PS How's the tyres ?

I spoke to a French friend of mine, who gave me some pointers. Rather than try and dissect what he wrote to me, I'll quote it.
Thanks Tsyrak

hmm how would you access the Net on the laptop? for 56K access there'd be the possibility to take a free (the ISP is free, not the phone calls) connection from http://www.club-internet.fr or http://www.tiscali.fr - details given directly on the sign-up is done, ie: no need to wait for some connection kit on CD. That requires to go through all that French of course hehe and otherwise the Post Code number from where your dialing-up. It's the price of a local call then.

just an idea!!!!
Get a data cable for your mobile and the correct drivers and just use that. Crap connection speeds and will be pricey but if your usage is going to be low it will be ideal.
