Is the problem only in one area or all area's??
When did the issue start?
Anyone else suffering the same issue in your area?
2 or 3g?
Worst comes to worst, factory reset the phone.

The signal is worse everywhere in general , whereas it used to be great everywhere. The phone has been perfect until 6 months ago it did a full software update it was buggy and doing weird things. Then a couple of weeks ago it got another full software update which fixed the other problems but signal has been messed up. Dont know why it did 2 software upgrades so close together.
With updates , downloading apps , new software etc and the 2 nearest O2 masts going down in March I'm not 100% sure when it started , but when I'm in known bad signal areas it goes into Emergency Calls Only.
What would a factory reset change that would affect the signal ? I've had to setup all my apps /widgets etc twice since the upgrades in software , not sure I can be bothered again ! If I do have to I might just ask to upgrade the handset early , boss said it 4/5 months away.

sometimes during upgrades (was it the Samsung upgrade?) the rom itself no longer work correctly with the radio. If it is the genuine Samsung upgrade then a factory reset could solve it. Maybe check xda out for advice over there. For your apps you could always root it and then get titanium backup to backup and then restore your apps and data
