Ive been looking for one for a while. Not sure about one for £180 but the Nikon Ixus V at £299 is a great camera and even takes 20 secs of decent quality video footage.
Check here for some example photos http://pics.mornington.org.uk/universal/
Id also put a 64mb or 128mb comnpact flash card in your budget as this gives you enough room for decent res pics and lots off them so you dont worry about running out of space. Thats the cool thing about digi cams - you can take loads of dodgy photos and check them when u get home with no need for expensive developing costs etc.

just bought an olympus 3020 from
www.ukdigital.co.uk
by far the cheapest place i saw surfing around.
also suggest you buy a couple of digi camera buyer mags as they have reviews and pros/cons of all cameras.
i bought What Digital Camera and Digital Camera Buyer.
not sure what you can expect for that money....might be worth saving a bit more.........
the Fuji Finepix 2800 appears to be a well spec'ed camera and gets good reviews....the place i got mine have it for £270 incl vat.
i went for olympus as it also gets good reviews in mags and i've used these cameras at work.
