Default Following on from the other iPad thread.....

Decided as I'm not patient and couldn't wait for delivery for a refurb, I picked my iPad2 this evening.

Not really fussed about the new one so this will do.

Only downside once I got it I got dragged round tesco for a hour

There isn't sufficient difference between the new iPad and the iPad 2 to worry about, so go have fun!

I want to try these iPad things. Is it worth me getting the new one or will the 2 32g be ok?

Depends if you want the new ultra resolution screen. If you're not fussed, save yourself £70 and get the iPad 2*.

*Other brands of tablet are available.

If you want something that could challenge the XBOX 360 and PS3 then it has to be the new iPad.

Don't take my word for it.

Now Jack, I still have fond memories of Forza 3 racing with you but please don't spam every iPad/iPhone/Apple thread with your spin doctoring

"It's quite easy to imagine a world where an iPad is more powerful than a home console, where it wirelessly talks to your TV and wirelessly talks to your controller and becomes your new console,"

&

"When the iPad gets to the processing power that's equal to an Xbox 360 and it connects to a television, that's no big deal to us — we'll put the game through the iPad and have it display through the television,"

i.e. it's not there yet, perhaps in the future, yes it could be a challenger for the home console.

Yes, absolutely. Although the bigger screen makes it better of course: easier to do work, better to watch movies, games are better etc... But it doesn't fit in your pocket!

I agree with the iPad2 - iPad3 comment.

I certainly wouldn't pay for that upgrade, however for me upgrading from an iPad1 it's a massive leap.

My 2 young boys are excited as they'll be sharing ownership of my iPad1 from tomorrow

I use my iPad every single day.

I spend at least 1 night away in Milton Keynes so I use it in the hotel to browse, send emails or watch something on NetFlix.

When I brush my teeth before bed it always makes me feel wide awake so I spend half an hour or so browsing or reading before going to sleep.

It's so much easier than carrying a laptop upstairs etc

Hmmm I've missed that one, does it require a jailbreak?

You may have to wait a while. I'm surprised that Ant could Jailbreak his iPad 2 as Apple have stopped signing iOS 5.0.1 so when you first plug it in to iTunes it normally tries to update and they come shipped with a much lower version of the iOS (at least mine did -- I got one with 4.2 on it!).

I really wish Apple would make a version of the official iPad 1 case for the 2 & 3.
