Why won't my computer recognise my Samsung galaxay Ace?
Wanting to download some of my CDs onto my phone as an MP3 player. I have them on the computer, but, try as I might, the computer (Windows Media Player), just says there is no MP3 player connected.
Now I KNOW it is at it dings when I connect and opening up My Computer sees it there.
I can drag and drop, but the stuff then goes in diorganised.
Any tips to get the 'puter to SEE my phone?
I have Samsung Kies but it's AWFUL..........

If you have Kies running, Windows Explorer finds the storage media as a Removable disk much easier.
I find transfering music files from where iTunes stores them (if you use iTunes) on my PC to the phone very simple then.

It's your computer telling you it wants an iPhone instead! Lol
Being serious are you connecting it as a mass USB storage device or as a phone when it connects, I found when I had an s2 connecting it as a basic USB device worked better for transferring songs.
Alternatively remove the sd card and stick it directly into the computer assuming it has a card reader?

Kies is aweful, bin it. Not sure you can do what you are trying to do with windows mp. Drag and drop in organised folders would be best. The ace media player is not great. Try downloading mobi from market

As ^^^ said. Just connect as a 'mass storage device' and copy the files to whatever directory you need to. I use MyPhoneExplorer to sync contacts/calendar/tasks/notes from Outlook on my PC to my phone (HTC) plus sync about 23GB of MP3s to it. I use Poweramp on the phone as my MP3 player.

Well I've connected by a USB, and I just drag and drop files I want from my music to "Drive H", which comes up as removable.
My lad made me a music folder in there and it SEEMS to work.
I'll have to give WiFi a go too.
I'll let you know when my new Micro-SD card comes, the old one was gash, so I bought a better, faster one.
Thanks.
