Default How do i Watch Films off mac on a projector

Hi guys, i'm having problems being able to watch films that are on a portable hard drive plugged into my macbook air.

ok so i bought the dongle type thing to plug into the mac so i can plug a converter into it which has rca and svideo output, i normally use the rca on the projector to watch films off the dvd player.

Now the problem i have is i can see the film on the laptop but don't know how to make it go through this converter and come out the projector.

I assume that there is something i need to do on the macbook to make it do it as in a menu somewhere, but i'm too dumb to find it.

HELP as i'm >>>

Yes, system, then display, detect displays and within there 'mirror display'.

Edit: I wasn't going to say this but changed my mind. It is really not obvious at all how to do this, I was so using just pressing Alt-F7 or something on a windows PC. I spent 10 embarassing minutes on google the first time I had to do a presentation on my MacBook.

Or alternatively, do what Luan failed to do and use the device as most other people do rather than selling it and saying it isn't fit for it's purpose!!!

Thanks but that would be like leaving the comfort of a detached house with pool and moving into a cave with an angry bear in it.

Windows is the reason i know very little about computers as it almost put me off them for life.

In the mac i have something that does what it's supposed to every time i switch it on without fail, and it has done so for the last year, and it doesn't fall over when i do something other than switch it on.

Oh and thanks guys i watched pulp fiction and ****** last night on the projector

Now i am a mac fanboy

You mean I dared to use the product in a way that was outside the confines of how Apple wanted me to. I must apologise to apple for daring to be different and not being a robot.
