just installed the 8gb upgrade kit :d £34.99

well worth it.

seems a little but slower on boot up is that normal?

Not sure Ant,but with this suffer every user of Lion(i assume you are running Lion),you are running too SSD

no its not ssd, as i need the space (640gb)

Before speed boot up has been better than now?

More people still think "older" Snow Leopard like me too think has been better,i'm still on Snow leopard and i'm happy with this

i'm going to try a restore of lion and see what that gets me

yes, it will load more of the OS into memory on the initial boot

That'll be why then , tbh it never gets turned off always on standby.
