Forza 4 incomming
Ok guys Nov is approx when it drops, and according to Game TM mag all old saves and progress on Forza 3 will unlock new cars on first boot and other goodies.
So its time to dust it off get to level 50 and look forward to Nov ish

Thanks - I've seen this trick before, but hadn't tried it yet.
Will have a "bast" this weekend and see what's what!
Failing that, I'll go for a replacement one....

I don't think you lose anything with a RROD - just swap the hard drive to a new machine and it should keep it all - RROD is usually hardware (chip?) overheating, not HD corrupting.
Good luck

There's an easier way than that. Stick a cotton bud in each of the two fans at the back of the 360 and switch it on. After 20 minutes the rrod disappears and then switch it off and let it cool down for 30 mins and all is working again.

My data transfer didn't work when I got a new Xbox so I started again but I think I lost interest at around level 20 (yet Forza 2 I was addicted to). Which is strange cause F3 has more cars and tracks.
Doesn't mean I won't be pre-ordering F4 though lol

Hi, I have done a couple now buying the kit of ebay for a couple of quid, it's a bit more involved than sticking something to stop the fans working but as far as I know they are still going strong.
Involves spacing out the heatsink and removing the xclamps on the back of the board, then unplugging the fans and letting it overheat, then job done. It's really quite easy to do, not much to taking them apart and there are loads of videos on youtube for doing it
