IPAD borked
Ok had Ipad 1 for nearly a year now and ive had sound issues intermitant sound just goes, slider bar goes .
Anyway i returned it to apple and they have sentme it back saying its got Liquid Damage.
i do remember my Daughter droppin some yogurt on it which got in the dock hole.
Anyway it still works but as above sometime slooses sound.
Apple have written it off with no repair nor help.
unknown to me there are little Liquid indicators at the bottom and headphone socket, so if any of you have got it wet in the rain etc, be careful cos your probably no covered now
*****
Ive claimed on house insurance as it was the 600 quid one.

Yeah all the ports have moisture sensors in them. I'm sure my iPhone wouldn't be replaced as my 17 month old son has had it in his mouth on a few occasions.
You can buy rubber 'plugs' for them now.

cos i know from what happend the Yog sniffed the port never went in. I know also that they have removed it from the headphone socket on the IPAD 2 due to customer complaints that it was how Apple got round not having to replace 40% using the Liquid spill as a scape goat.
Google it ****loads on the lappys about apple pulling the wool down for these liquid spill detectors and independant vendors saying that the liquid somtimes discolours the pad but doesnt effect the Item.
Good thing is you can get a refund on apple care policy, but agreed i,ll bung the hole next time, It works fine just now and again goes mad, weird though how that port effects volume up n down
didnt know the bungs existed

Yes it will be. Apple has changed their policy on the sensors, as many hadn't exposed them to liquid and the sensors were indicating they had.

I think you were unlucky, or told a load of bollox by Apple.
I dropped my iTouch in the bath, it went right under the water, about 3 years ago and it's been perfect.
