I am getting an error code and when I looked on the Internet it's saying psn is down for maintainence but a couple of my mates claim to be on playing the now!

Anyone else having problems?

I was on early doing a fecking 1 hour GT5 update!

Could be an automated response if one of your local PS servers is down.

did you read this bit maybe thats why they're on

If you wish to play online during the maintenance, please ensure you sign in to PSN before 16:05 on Wednesday 9 March 2011.
During this maintenance, you can continue to collect in-game trophies and these will be updated on your profile once PlayStation Network is back up and running.

This will be a major update to the way PSN works, probably to do with security.

Game saves on Sony servers is a great feature, well done Sony, I wish Microsoft would do the same.

Sony will no doubt cut down freeloader access to increase revenue in order to cover costs. Can't blame them and paid service is far better, look at Xbox live, it's the best product Microsoft have.

As an xbox and a ps3 owner I will say xbox live poops all over ths psn network. Sony will have to make things run a lot smoother before I consider paying for the psn.

I reckon this big update must have had something to do with stopping the pirates getting online with their custom firmware. The last 3:56 update was supposed to stop them but they just spoofed the 3:56 firmware.

Nah the update hasnt stoped them they can still get online the new firmware has though added some extra security levels

KaKaRoToKS has confirmed via Twitter: "Wow, in 3.60, Sony removed all the loaders, no more isoldr/lv1ldr/lv2ldr/appldr.. but they added lv0.2! Seems they found a way to secure ps3"
