"Microsoft said in a statement: ‘We have identified a technical issue with the Windows Phone update process that impacts a small number of phones."

Ah - so that means all Win 7 phones

I've been offered an Omnia 7 as an upgrade for a new Tmob contract AND £5 off a month. They must be desperate to get rid of stocks.

I don't think I personally own any MS products I do use them at w*rk however Sometimes, unless I can avoid them, which mostly I do. Actually, about the only time I use our Windoze stuff is when it's gone wrong, AGAIN ! 1.5 hours lost last night trying to get 7 servers to see each other, whilst the Macs just sat there, ready to go whenever the Windoze machines were ready to do something.

Android is where it's at anyway. The game has changed unfortunately the apple fanboys are too busy burning up with their hatred of microsoft to see they are left eating dust.

Even Jackclarks ipad says it all , you may stick an android sticker on but it's not going to get you ahead of the game.

King of Turds that's so weak. But as you've brought up Android, no one mentioned on here Android sending txt messages to the wrong recipient, that was huge, but swept under the carpet.

It affected samsung handsets, though considering the amount of different handsets used it's not bad, if you want a comparison to apple then just look what 4.x did to the 3G phones, even now I only run 4.0 on my 3GS and 4.2 on the 4, and the 4 has more issues with the mobile Internet than the 3GS does (locks up and need to switch to airplane mode and off again for a reset).
And considering apple have only their own devices they really do do cr@p software for them

You could mention apple devices sending multiple texts too, widely talked about

I could mention the Android Malware packaged as wallpaper changers that's costing users real money as it takes them over their download limit. But it's 10 days old now and everyone knows the risks associated with Android apps... don't they?

You could talk about the dropped call issue apple had or even the issue with the alarm clock on OS4.x that was there for 2 days (not fixed so no one knows if its going to happen again!).
The thing is Jack, for every issue with Android (and they cover a far wider variety of handsets) there is an issue with Apple (and yes, those have cost owners money also).
If you look at the handset, the iphone is very user friendly, look at it as a phone and its a horror story, bugs making the phone stick with 3G instead of dropping to 2G for handovers when changing coverage area, showing 3G but no coverage etc, and that isnt a coverage issue, thats a handset software issue thats been proven.
We could go on about this for ages, Apple are not squeaky clean, neither do they fix all the major issues, they just sell expensive handsets (ive bought an Iphone 2G, 3GS and the works phone is a 4).

Microsoft can be given to monumental **** ups from time to time so this latest mess should be no surprise.

Having said that at least they don't release products knowing they have a major fault in them unlike Apple and the very real antenna design flaw in the iPhone4 that if I can find in normal day to day usage simply must have been spotted by Apple's testers and then duly ignored by its marketing and finance departments probably becuase they knew the sheep would buy them anyway ... and they did!!!

I agree Tony, the major difference is the amount of people prepared to bleat about each phones issues.

Can you send me a link to the iPhone malware? If it's for jailbroken phones only don't bother.
