Kinect killing Xbox?
There is an article on BBC news today about people reporting that Kinect is causing RROD on their 360s.
I would have thought that RROD was so common place, how could they possibly corroborate them with Kinect?
Would be interesting to see if figures for RROD have increased significantly since the release of Kinect.
Geezer

Interesting cause the new slim xboxes have a Kinect port that powers it as well, but I believe the older style xboxes you need to plug the Kinect device to it's own power source?

Yeah thats correct if you have the older style 360 you have to plug to the mains supply, were as the latest models you dont as it powers direct from the console ! is this a possible flaw drawing to much power from the console to power the kinect ?

I think alot of people still keep Xbox'ss, PS3's etc.. in enclosed spaces with poor airflow. Overheating is probably the main cause of all console failures. My mates PS3 was showing signs of getting too hot not long back, after 10 mins of being on the fan was on full blast. We took it apart to change the thermal paste on the CPU and GPU, the application of the stuff from the factory was crap. Big splodges in the middle that had gone hard and poor coverage. It was cleaned off and I applied new paste, it's nice and quiet now. I'm thinking of putting new paste on my PS3's and Xbox as a precautionary measure.
When new games and hardware comes out, the console will get alot of hammer.
