PS3 - Should I?

PS3 - Should I?
Right guys, I currently have an XBOX360 (since they came out). Don''t play it that often but quite enjoy the odd BBC2 or COD MW2. I enjoyed the Forza and PGR driving games but was annoyed at the limitations of Forza3 multiplayer where you can't have an open game (anyone not just friends) hosted with a class of car restriction.
So bearing that in mind, is it worth buying a PS3 for GT5 ?
Does the multiplayer allow you to host a game restricted by car class ?
The reviews seem to paint a bit of a mixed picture......so I'm really stuck on the fence...........

For starters gt5 is looking like a failure , the graphics Is no better. I love it when people say it has a blu ray player if you want a blu ray player dont spend £250 for a average one

+1....This always comes up when people look for advice on which machine to buy. At the end of the day the sole purpose is to play games, who gives a toss that it has a blue ray player, a reveiw should based on what it does first not what it does second.
Save your money fella and keep the xbox..

Same as that, I like the ps3 for the fact that it has the blu ray player, free online playing and the controllers are rechargeable. As it has the blu ray player which is actually quite good it's saving space in my tv unit.
Find that there are less games for the ps3 as well, better titles on xbox

Have all 3 consoles. Use the XBox360 more as it comes with everything you need in the box for on-line gaming with your mates, such as a headset and everything set-up for partyy mode and private chat etc... My launch day PS3 hardly gets used, and find it's more of a faff for updates , which can come in quite often and you end up twiddiling your thumbs whislt you await the update to download and install. Also the added expense of buying a headset and setting it up if you want to play on-line. Also the PS Network seems flaky at times (Especially with wireless). Just my opinion.
The Wii gets used more than the PS3.

Buy it
Xbox 360 = kids at school and young familys i have all consoles, Xbox is good looking a bit dated now sometimes struggles but overall good.
PS3 = Older fanbase much more powerfull Blue ray player free Online no subs.
New Xbox 360 2 will be out next year or later based around AMD new chipset, should start getting good then lets hope they dont used failed DVD technology this time and pop blu ray in it

You forgot to mention all the time waiting for games to be installed to the HDD. All that "power" and can't run games straight off a disc . What a joke

Games are loaded onto the HD cos they have massive content just as Gears of war 2 dumped 6.8 gig on ya drive.
In fact Xbox more so has it uses a failed DVD technology hence needs backup.
I dont want to quote stuggles but if i must
dead Rising 2 was 1 perfect example get loads of zombies on the screen and chugginton starts on 360 ps3 is fine.
Both great consoles though

Not really, I know people who use it as a full media server, hooked up to the AV system streaming music and videos, e-mail, internet. I guess the 360 can do the same stuff, but there will be a certain percentage of people who will want it to have the ability to do more than play games.

If you want crash dynamics then you might be disappointed with GT5, however, it is a driving sim.
Get the Logitech GT wheel and the Wheel Mount Pro (well, if you're going to splash the cash, another £170 on these two is a must).
The graphics, choice of cars and tracks is awesome.
Loading times are a bit ****.

Well GT5 I have on the PS3, dont play it much tbh I prefer the COD series.
I tend to use the XBOX for testing games to buy for PS3 or for single player only oh and games my daughter likes
XBOX live is not free like PS network either!

To the OP I also have all the consoles, 2 360s which are only ever used by my kids now as I hardly ever turn them on. I spend all my playing time on my PS3 now as I just prefer it. If I could exchange all my 360 games for the PS3 format cost free I would do.
I have Forza 3 and it never got played anywhere near the amount I played Forza 2. In the short time GT5 has been out I think i've spent more time on that than I have in total on Forza 3. Also something to do with the wheel, the Logitech DFP feels a millions times better than the 360 wheel.

PS3 all the way, antc is clearly a Xbox fan boy whom will not differ from what he has already said. Sell your Xbox along with your goodies and get a PS3 with GT5 for pocket change. Yes it has a blue ray player which is a bonus and comes in handy. No Network fees either which is a small added bonus.
On a seperate note, GT5 is a great game, but it didnt meet my expectation, unless I was expecting something more superior than they could offer.
Rob
PS the HDD loads are sometimes to make the game run smoother and run quicker when in use.
