Pimmo I have a question is the services going to be bumped up? I.e 10mb to 20mb, 20mb to 50mb , 50mb to 100mb?

If not what's the price difference from 50mb to 100mb and will my modem running the 50mb work with the 100mb.

Do you know any dates when it's available?

Sorry for all the questions.

The idea is VM have no small options ..

So they will keep moving up ..

20 - 50 - 100

50 - 100 - 200

etc

Price wise, I can't say at the moment, needs to be released to the public first ..

As for when its available, its there now, just upgrading the UBRs around the country ... Be here before you know it

I'm still on 50mb but whats worse is when that said I was getting 122mb downloads it was only 4mb on newsgroups and its been that for a few days. Its getting that bad I'm thinking of complaining

Ok, the UBRs are being upgraded to allow a more .. streamlined approach but the 100Mb profile is on both your areas, so technically, yes you could have 100Mb now .. its not available yet as if you got it, everyone else would suffer

either of them and its still shoite for 50mb. My downloads are that slow I'm gonn complain and that with speedtest saying I'm getting 122mb. If I was getting those speeds on newgroups I would be well happy In fact if I got 50mb which I pay for on newgroups I would be happy

So as i expected, you get a good result on a speedcheck, but still ****ty virgin speeds when actually using the connection?

Utterly pointless then.

If you're talking to me then no, you expected wrong ..

I got 9.8MB/s from torrents .. and considering my connection hasn't been upgraded to handle 100Mb that's awesome speeds ..

Yes, sorry - I'm with Pimmo - I'm a "normal" VM customer and download mainly from newgroups (using US and Netherlands based servers of Newshosting.com).

I can max out my 50meg connection when downloading quite easily, at just about any day of the week or time of the day.

So - in essence, it's the best broadband around - a 50meg service that actually delivers 50meg.

I've registered for 100meg and would expect that to be just as good.... when I can eventually get it!

Trust me it is being rushed out as fast as possible .. but can you imagine the press if it doesn't work after VM have been shouting about it ..

Whole selection of new crap coming in the New year for VM customers crap being more option, services etc

thats all well and good providing they don't throttle you for downloading at the wrong time.
When i was with virgin if i downloaded more than a gig in the day i would only get 25% speed for the next 24hrs. Faster connection meant i only got to their limit quicker..
