Default Which XBox 360 to buy ?

Looks like Father Christmas will bring the eldest an XBox this year......usual list of games like Mass Effect and shooters as well on the list.

Which is the best one? I was looking at a 4GB model with Kinect bundle but will I need a hard drive to store games and data?

Sorry for the simple questions but I know nothing about XBoxes LOL

Thanks

Yeah I don't rate the 4GB one as it won't support for example Halo Reach if he decides to buy that at somepoint, as well as not being capable of holding any downloadable content. I currently own the New 360 with the 250GB Hard Drive it is quieter than the older xboxes and has the ability to install the games onto the Hard Drive with plenty of space left for downloadable content etc..

if you are going online get the one wit the 250gb hdd because if you get one with just 40 or 60 they soon fill them up if say a game gets scratched you can put it on the harddrive at about 7gb a game i have 6 kids with 6 xboxes all online at £40 a game and £40 for xbox live each for the year

I have a 60gb HDD and it's been fine, only used about 12gb and thats with quite a bit of DLC on, the 4gb model would be a waste of time, you would be needing a bigger HDD within a month

4GB is only Flash memory not a proper HD and i believe it says on the box you need a HD to access Live content.

I have an old arcade at work that we use on rainy days and all that has is a 2gb usb flash drive!

But my main machine at home has the 120gb drive, and its around half full, all with paid content, mostly DLC.

doubt it... the HD's that Microsoft use for the xbox are specific to them, there shaped a certain way and obviously formatted for game use.

I defo wouldn't get the 4gb bundle, besides the current kinect is crap. get the 250 version and if he wants kinect wait for the updated version to be released sometime in a year or so

you have to subscribe to Live, that allows the player to use the online features that a particular game comes with.

for instance Call of duty. you buy the game can play through the whole story mode etc but unless you subscribe to live you cant play other people 'online'.

About £35 per year for xbox live gold membership which is what you need, might find cheaper deals if you check ebay
