Hotmail query
I have a Hotmail account which would never update incoming e-mails automatically (ie. you have to refresh the inbox to see if you have a new message). This was the same for nigh on 10 years.
About 2 months ago (and all by itself) Hotmail on my laptop suddenly started notifying me with a ping as soon any e-mail arrived in the inbox. Hurrah I thought, welcome to the 21st century.
(My mobile phone had already implemented this feature about a year earlier).
Anyway, its suddenly stopped again all by itself and will only show new mails when refreshed. The mobile is continuing to operate fine as before.
So what is happening? How can I get it back to notifying me?
As you may gather I'm a Techno-Doofus.
