Every time i open IE a tmp file appears on the desktop = ywwyfhebvs.tmp.

try a decent scanner like Microsoft essentials, do you happen to use outlook express or outlook as I seem to remember this causing a very similar problem...

Malwarebytes its best freeware for removing "unwated" malwares and other *****,sometimes occasionally scan with Malwarebytes PC and you will be fine
And i recommend you download other browser for your own security(IE hackers use mostly, because everybody use IE and its easy to hack) and download CCleaner

Got CCleaner already. I've tried Chrome and Firefox (a long time ago) but i keep going back to IE as i don't like change. I've only recently upgraded from IE6 to 8
Are there any browsers out there which are very similar to IE as i think a change would be best
