Wireless router/modem confusion-help?
Hi,
I have a slightly arkward set up at present.
My spare phone line is in the bedroom and so my BT adsl router is plugged in here.
In my downstairs room I have a Belkin wifi router. This is 'connected' to the bt adsl router via a 'home plug'. This wireless router allows me to access wifi via my laptops. It also acts as a wired router in that my base sonos is wired into it, and my nas (for music) is wired into it.
I have to have this two room set up as there is no phone line in the downstairs room, and obviously don't want all that 'mess' in my bedroom.
I understand there are now wireless adsl routers? so I could replace the bt one I have with one of those? This would mean I wouldn't have to use the homeplug and declutter my bedroom a bit more.
I also want to replace the wifi router downstairs with a better one. Will this just then communicate with the wireless router upstairs, but still provide wired connections to my sonos and nas?
As you can tell I'm a bit confused by the whole thing! If I've got the above correct, can somebody please suggest which ones to go for. Cost is not really an issue, I just want the best/most reliable.
Many thanks and sorry for the rambling post.

Correct, although I thought they were available from the start.
I'm cable, so I have to have the cable modem and a wireless router, can't have an all in one.
Have a word with BT, they might just give you a free wireless adsl router.
If not, there are plenty to choose from.

Thanks.
Are the good wireless adsl routers as good as wired adsl routers?
Also if I were to get one, how would it know to just send my broadband to my wifi router downstairs. Whats stopping it sending it to the next door neighbours, ie how are the devices paired?
Thanks
