I had this issue a few years ago when I bought a 1.50 psp from china it wouldnt charge but worked fine on the mains

to fix it all I did was use the date cable and power lead for the PC to charge the PSP and for some reason it decided to work again - my date cable (usb one) has a power lead on it to

hope it works for you

is your usb power cable one that goes in the bottom or are you thinking about the data cable at the top

mine is 1 usb lead that splits into a power lead and a data cable
