PS3 Question
I have a slim line PS3 and i know it wont play PS2 games. The question i have for you is. Why the hell does it have a PS2 memory card utility?

PS1 is software emulated and PS2 is hardware emulated. Hardware emulation costs cash and since Sony had to make less of a loss on each machine, the hardware emulation went by the way of the Dodo.
I still have an original launch PS3 that still has the PS2 hardware emulation.

Mine's a UK fatty, and has soft emulation, I think the launch US/Jap fattys had hardware emu.
I've only ever played PS2 Buzz on my PS3, but I'm sure there used to be a list of compatable games, as not all had been emulated.
