From what I know of the service, which is very little, it seems it allows you to send, from your mobile an SMS message to a landline, and the message on the landline end is read to the user.
What mobile phone do you have? I know my ancient Nokia 5110 could send and receive SMS messages, so it shouldn't be an issue on that end. Not sure what the landline requirements are, probably requires a touch-tone phone though.

it is for sending sms from the landline telephone to a mobile. my landline telephone is old school corded so it doesnt support sms from it. i know some cordless dect telephone will support sms but i just hate typing sms on a phone. prefered to type it on a computer and send it.
