looking at getting sms (text messenging for mobile
) installed on our server to let us know when backups fail etc etc.
what products are avaialble? any for exchange also? been searching on the net but most pay for the software and thenpay for the sms's also!! even the demo versions do, so anyone know of any ones where u pay for s/w but not sms?

Get a paging system 
We run some software costing £850 that takes drop-files (SMS messages), connects via the Internet to the paging company servers, inserts the message direct into the queue & our couriers get it almost straightaway.
I then created various text files (in the correct format) that get copied by various batch files to the drop-file directory dependant on what error occurs.
We send out over 2000 messages a day with no problem. Pager costs, what £7.50 a month? Also due to the low-band radio transmission of the pager broardcast, the coverage is 100% UK including inside carparks/buildings etc.
Therefore, software costs £850 & £7.50 a month to run - no charge for the messages.
