Never had a problem all day yesterday and i was on gears 2 multiplayer for most of the day, my mate got disconnected once from the lobby (i was host) but i stayed connected.
Your console is connected to the internet but cant contact Xbox Live.
Your router or ISP may be blocking access to Xbox Live.
On your PC go to your router configuration Web page and make sure port 3074 is open on your firewall. If it is open, it may be blocked outside your home network. Contact your ISP.
Ive just added port forwarding but still doesnt work. Ive never had this error before. Wonder if Tiscali are blocking it?
