Trying to find a back up file

Trying to find a back up file
I had a Sony Ericsson phone and used the SE pc suite software to back up my phonebook.
The phone was faulty so has been replaced with a Samsung. As such I cannot connect the phone and transfer the contacts across. Is there any way I can find a root to the back up file and read it via notepad or similar?
The only way I can think of getting them at the mo is to connect someone elses K850i and try and recall them that way.
Some were saved to my sim but not all. Any help would be very much appreciated.
