Which one - Rock Band or Guitar Hero World Tour?
If you were going to buy one now for the 360 which is the one to get including all kit and the game?
Already got Guitar Hero 3 but as I understand it the guitar with that isn't compatible with the new ones?

I had the same question on Wii, went for GHWT because it had a free extra guitar and the song list was more appropriate.
Haven't used it as it's a present for niece/nephews but that's what swung our decision.

I think the drum kit with World tour is probably better than the Rock Band one as it contains the extra symbols. There is new Rock Band instruments due out any time soon I believe.
AFAIK all the World Tour instruments work with Rock Band and the previous Guitar Hero games. The GH3 guitar works with World Tour and it definitely works with Rock Band because I've used it, not sure about Rock Band 2 though. In my opinion the song selection with Rock Band is better, plus they offer a lot more downloadable content. World Tour does have Hendrix though.

I've just finished GHWT and the song list is the worst of any of the music/rhythm games I've played.
I'm just starting RB2 having completed RB1. The career mode lets you use the songs from the RB1 disc in the RB2 career and all your download content you have.
All drums/guitars work on both games (360) with some functions removed for game specific tweaks ( GHWT slider bar )
Both great games but rockband takes it on the back of the songs and the better career mode.
If you want better drums
Drum Rocker ....... my christmas prezzie. It's upstaris but I'm not allowed to play yet

Completed it on hard without failing any songs, something I couldn't do on the others. Thought I'd go and start it on expert but it says 100% complete so I don't like that aspect.
Rock Band 2 is the one you should go for.

The rockband 2 instruments haven't been released yet. They are due very soon I think but until then pick up a copy of RB1 with a guitar and the solo version of RB2

Thanks, was just about to hit the buy button on Guitar Hero World Tour with guitar for £59.99. I take it if I buy that the guitar will work on solo copies of Rock Band 1 and 2? It's for my son and I don't think he will be that fussed about the track list, can't keep him off my copy of Guitar Hero 3.
