Streaming to PS3
I have managed to access the media files from my PC using the PS3. Photos and music are all accessible, but only a few videos. I have a folder full of MP4 files which the kids have on thier Ipods and none of these show up on the PS3. I've tried moving them into other folders and I even converted one file using PS3 Video 9 but they still don't show up. Does anyone know what I need to do to get them to play? I'm using Vista on the PC.
Could I stream HD film through the PC and onto the PS3?

I've just had a good google look into this and I think that WMP is the problem. It will not allow the MP4 files into the library.
I tried changing one of the files into a .AVI and this still didn't work.
Anyway... Actually linking the PS3 and the PC together (even if it is just for the photos and music) has made me feel like a techno expert (It did take me about 3 days though).
g7prs - which bit are you stuck on? Now I know more than the bloke from 'The Gadget Show' I may be able to help.

TVersity is great
Also TwonkyVision is a very good media streamer.
I download Blu-Ray movies and stream them to my PS3 using TwonkyVision, wouldn't work through TVersity for some reason so I just have both media servers configured on the one pc.
Streaming blu-ray to the PS3 is amazing, full HD and no jitters (that's over a wired connection though)

Do you have to stream the blu-ray or is there an option to copy it across to the PS3 hard drive? (I have a 320gb in mine so plenty of space available)
I've only ever used my PS3 for gaming but I see some benefits here....
Thanks

I'm not an expert, but I have a rough idea. Go into Windows Media Player and so long as you have WMP11 you should be able to share easily. Click on the arrow under 'Library' go down to 'media sharing' and follow the instructions from there.

Make sure that the PC is allowing you to share files.
