Hi, a few months ago i was asking about free anti virus programs and jack gave me a url to a free version.

However this is now causing major probs with my system and has changed recently. I have looked to try and remove this however to my horror i cannot find it anywhere?? there is no listing for mcafee virus, try'd add remove no listing but it appears every startup??

I just want to remove this compleatly from my pc. Can anyone or jack tell me how to get rid of this??

Nope nothing, found a file in windows labelled CO which seems to contain all mcafee asap deleated all the file seems to of sorted it as it's not comming up in the status bar anymore.

It was causing havoc with my pc. causing a error on shut down managed to solve the problem now. Still could do with jack confirming the right folder was deleated.

Sorry, just got back from Holiday. It should be listed as MyCIO or similar. What was the problem?

Red face

Jack, myAgtSvc was causing an error on shutdown and during internet activity was trying to connect to something and then caused an error.

Installed another anti virus program now which scanned my pc and found a virus! How this has got on is and why mcafee hasn't picked it up i don't know. When mcafee was working properly the system was scanned not 2 weeks ago and never found any virus.

The virus cannot be removed and i cannot find any info on it on the net.

It appears pretty harmless but any info would be greatly appreciated as i'd like to remove it (Try'd quarantine won't move it)

Virus detail: Joke program only_game

infected files C:\_restore\temp\a0041900.cpy
And C:\_restore\temp\a0041901.cpy

Any info jack or indeed anyone??

Thanks.

If you could send the log file to jclark@nai.com I'd appreiciate it. Can't comment on the alert but you're welcome to send a sample to vsample@nai.com zip it first.
