Question Adware - Free Copy

A couple of years ago I downloaded a free working copy of Adware, all legit. But this has disappeared so I need another copy.

Google gives lots of choices but whilst the Downloads are free the programme doesn't work until you register and sign up to some deal or other.

So has anyone got a decent link that just Downloads and lets you get on with the job of removing bugs etc. I know I have some **** on my PC which is missed by Norton and Spybot.

Appreciate any help. TIA David.

Ignore the download - go down to the competitors bit at the bottom:

Ad-Aware 2008 - Free software downloads and reviews - CNET Download.com

Sorry but I have just tried that although it seemed to switch to a Spyware Doctor download - is that the same thing?

Anyway it did a scan, found problems, and then told me I had to pay and register to remove them So another hour wasted.

So what am I doing wrong? dl

I've found this to be a better product:

Thanks. Maybe I am being super stupid. Yes the Downloads are free but you have to pay to get them to work! This wasn't the case with the last version I had.

eg SUPERAntiSpyware.com products are FREE to download. If you have already purchased, simply download your software here, install and enter the supplied registration code.

Hey - that's terrific, thanks so much. Sorry for delay but scan took a couple of hours!!

My slight concern is that Adware identified 2 bugs, supposed to copy keystrokes, but these weren't picked up by Malware. Should I be worried?

Also how do I see what programmes are running in background at any time and which programmes are essential to keep open?

Many thanks again, d

Adaware has its place, but I like Spybot S&D and SpywareBlaster. Its better to prevent than to try to cure.

Hit it with both ad-aware and spybot, they seem to pick up most things between them.

I already use Spybot and Norton. Both missed stuff picked up by Adware. dl
