SKY HD
After some un biased advice I currently have SKY+ in one room, and a standard box in the other after my dog ate the remote on the standard one i am thinking of upgrading to SKY+HD. Is it worth it basically. It will be on a 42"HD tv

I think you'll find it quite hard to get unbiased advice on this!
IMO however, I think it's worth it, the difference on some of it is staggering, not so on others. There are more and more channels coming online all the time, and the HD box has a bigger hard drive, Sky Anytime and the SD feed seems to be better on it too.

It's probably worth it now, there's another 7 HD channels being added this month (6 of them movies).
Had it in since May last year when it was probably too soon but the HD programming can be fantasic, but also can be poor and not much better than SD on occasion.
I think the picture quality of regular TV is improved a little, but it's more down to using an HDMI cable rather than SCART.
HD really does show up how crap regular transmissions are though, and I'm a bit disappointed that there's no ITV HD yet for the F1 & Champions League...

I pay for the extra for Sky HD and have not regretted it for a single second. If you have a HD display, then there is simply nothing else even close in terms of content.

Moto GP in on the bbc this year as well. They don't show it in HD though. No mention of HD for the F1 yet either
I still don't regret having Sky+ HD though. It's worth it for the films and BBC HD alone

I bought Sky HD simply for the HDMI socket on the back - in contrast to the normal Sky and Sky+ boxes, this means you get an all digital signal from the box to your HD telly / projector, whether viewing SD or HD content.
The actual HD content I don't bother with much.

Had mine fitted yesterday and the quality is really good. So far def worth it. I also had sky plus and phoned up as they have an offer at the moment: £75 for the box £60 for installation. I managed to get the instal for £30, no way I was paying £60 for a guy to come and swap the box over.

Got both Sky HD and Sky+ on multi-channel set-up. Up to now the thomson Sky HD box appears to have stopped malfunctioning, although the Thomson Sky+ box had to go back and be replaced within it's first 6 months due to an IR receiver problem with the remote control. I watch some HD programming and the films and some of the HD programs are worth it. But when you move to HD you pay an extra £10 for the priviledge.

Ive been debating the upgrade from Sky+ for a while now but think I will give them a call tonight. If I can get it for £75 and the install charge dropped or possibly halved then (Im not paying £60 for some bloke to take a HD box out of its packaging and plug it into my tv) then I will go for it.

Install is usually free if you go with multiroom but thats another £10 a month. I did this, was always meaning to move the other box upstairs but doing it that way meant someone else had to mess around with all the cabling and I got the full compliment of channels on the 2nd TV for a year too.
Had to get them back out again recently to move the dish to make way for an extension - cost me £65 but at least I got a brand new dish & LNB...

I already used the Multiroom card for upgrade to Sky +. Got a free (reconned box but same 1yr warranty) box if I took multiroom for a yr (so £120). They installed cable upstairs but I never used and they never charged me the £10 for multiroom (still got the old sky digital box).

i love the channel rush when i first got it , the hd on that is awesome special some of the mountain shots.
Ive installed some Freesat HD boxes (Humax) and the quality on BBC HD is nowhere near as clear compared to my BBC Sky HD and it was on the same model of tv
