Hi mate, You need to install the software on a PC so you can configure the access point with the SSD name etc, as well as any security settings.
Once you have done this, hook up the access point to the 360 via an ethernet cable and then it will effectively see the connection to the router as being "wired" (even though it is wireless) If you leave all the settings as "automatic" it should pick up the network and ge an IP address.
Is there any particular problem you're having?

No particular problem - just all of them
I can configure the access point, But just don't really understand what i'm doing.
For instance the wireless bridging.
Is this just left as access point?
Do i also configure this to have wpa2-psk etc etc?
Thanks,
Shaun

You shouldn't need to enter mac addresses and what have you - Unless you are locking your network down to only allow certain mac addresses to connect to the network.
And that should only be on the router side, not the access point/bridge side.
(apologies if this is teaching grandmother to suck eggs).
Just as a side issue, every single problem I have ever had with wireless netowrks has been with regards to scurity settings. Either something doesn like named MAC addresses, or something else doesn't liek WEP, or something else doesn't like WPA....
If I have any sort of problems, I start by turning off all security, and then hooking everything up and making sure everything works.
Then I implement security (starting with WPA) and check everything still works, and so on.

Don't worry about the apologies - as they say a little bit of knowledge is a very dangerous thing.
Here's the information screen.
Access Point Information
Access Point Mode Bridge
Access Point Name netgeard88989
MAC Address 00:1d:2A:d8:89:89
Region Europe
Firmware Version V1.1.0
Current IP Settings
IP Address 192.168.0.227
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 0.0.0.0
DHCP Client Enable
Current Wireless Settings
Wireless Network Name (SSID) the-brady-bunch-ap
Channel 11 / 2.462GHz
Encryption Type WPA2-PSK
Access Control Disable
I then choose "Wireless Point-To-Point Bridging"
Then under that I checked "Enable wireless client association"
It then wanted the remote MAC address which I entered properly this time.
Then at the bottom of that screen this appears
Wireless Remote Access Point List
Remote Access Point MAC address SSID Channel Signal Strength
1 00:1B:2F:99:B7:F0 the-brady-bunch 11 67
So maybe turn off security you think and start again.
I haven't tried the above just yet though?

Nope - that means that the router is no longer visible to my laptop.
Took that off again.
I think I'll need to **** off and do some reading first.
Shaun
EDIT:
Found this which sort of suggests it doesn't work - but I know you've got it working.
Wireless Bridging Overview
Also read somewhere else on there that you need a cross over cable to make it work?

I can't remember what mine is set to, I would need to look at it. But my dead says that it should be set as a bridge (you are effectively connecting two wired connections).
Assuming that it has a bridge mode - It been so long that I set up mine I can't remember what the options are.

Any chance you could actually look at your access point settings?
It would be appreciated.
The router I have is a netgear DG834G.
If I know what to do on the damn access point then it would probably be half the battle.
Like the SSID etc - should the access point and router have the same name?
Thanks,
Shaun
