Open up IE and goto Tools/Internet Options/Advanced

scroll down to multimedia and make sure the play sounds in web pages is enabled.

Failing that, check out your sound scheme in the control panel/sound settings.

Have you got realplayer etc? try going into them and checking the volume. I have the same problem from time to time when trying to listen to music, and for some reason windows media player wasnt making any sound when the sound on another player was turned down...strange but true!

Have you tried both IE and Firefox, maybe we can pinpoint it to browser or pc issue?

Okay mate have tried to install firefox. unfortunatly will not openbrowser when clicking on the firefox icon, no probs with ie just this freshly installed firefox- the plot thickens !!!

just wonder if there is a main setting that I have to select to switch from ie to firefox ie will only use ie by default ??

will retry a fresh firefox download and get back to you.
appreciatte your continued assistance, hopefully will get there in the end !!!
