Default Apple pricing Q please?

Hi guys

A couple of questions please? First one is I'm selling my G5 Tower (or wanting to) as well as a G4 PowerBook - anyone have an idea of a suitable price for either please?

Specs:

Apple G5 Tower
2 x 2.33 Ghz PowerPC processors
4 GB RAM
2 x 500GB SATA HDD (1TB total storage)
Superdrive
D-Link Bluetooth Apple Dongle
Apple Bluetooth Keyboard
Mighty Mouse (Wired)
Comes installed with Leopard
(I think that's it)
Can supply 20" HP widescreen monitor with it?

Apple G4 PowerBook laptop computer
1.5 Ghz PPC Processor
15" widescreen
1 GB RAM
120 GB HDD
Bluetooth / Wireless
Combi drive

Secondly - where's best to offer something like these for sale? I appreciate they're quite specialist. I was thinking of eBay, but I'm reluctant to do so. Anyone have any recommendations for me please?

Thanks in advance.

Depends on the processor speed for the PowerBook but you wont get that much for them now sadly.

Ive got a 2.33 MacBook Pro and saw one going for £500 on fleabay so a powerbook id say about £2/300

G5 id say around £7/800

I'd certainly use eBay as a guide for prices to set for your kit, but as Matt says, they won't be worth that much these days As for where to sell, well, again, my first thought would be eBay, other than that, you could see if a local Apple retailer/reseller will take it off your hands, or a second hand computer company, but they'd probably offer less than you could get for them on eBay. An advert in the local newspaper classified section might be worth a shot too.

Hi mate

How old is the Macbook ? Will it have a clean MacOS install ? Might be interested if you know what you want for it.

Dave,
Have a look, or get your friend to have a look, at the guides here. I think, judging by the spec, that the powerbook will be one of these, and thus you'll see all the options for how to replace parts. RAM is pretty easy, Hard Drive replacement/upgrade is not too bad, you simply need to open up the machine, and it's fairly straightforward.

1.5 vs 1.33 - doubt you'd notice the difference.

I want a 24" iMac to be honest - I have a 2.4 Ghz MacBook Pro, so don't tend to use the G5 much now. The PowerBook is Alison's old machine (she has a MacBook)
