Default Asus mo'board failure...

Earlier this week I heard a bang (mechanical) !

So dived across the room to PC and turned it off....

Pulled side door off, cpu heatsink/fan is sat on my 8800 graphics card

Ring supplier for a replacement moulding and they say ring ASUS, ASUS phone line just quotes their web-site... they say refer to reseller.... shafted !

Does anyone have an AM2 ASUS Mo'board that's scrap (as I do !) need the moulding that holds the heatsink/fan assembly on.... M2N32-SLIDeluxe(wi-fi).

Needless to say crap service from ASUS and crappy attitude by CCL On-line too !

Duncan

P.S. sat next to my 18 month old scrapper is a twenty two year old Amiga that's working fine (in an OLD school stylee).

not had experience with that particular socket, however can you not get a heatsink/fan that actually fastens through the motherboard like you can with some other boards?

Disappointed to hear CCL being crap.

Is it under a year old? Don't you have some consumer rights - and your contract is with CCL? Others on here will know more I suspect.

Your cpu might be fried aswell mate. They overheat very quickly and burn out if theres no cpu fan on them

either try "01442 202730", choose any option untill you get to speak to someone, they should give you a rma number, so you can send it down for repair, here's another number aswell "0870 120 8340"

good luck

Tried and followed instructions...
ended up quoting web site details then click.....
Didn't register product as they "appear" to be one of the best, sadly not up to my expectations.

Duncan

P.S. Thanks Dave !
