Default Which Printer?

Im looking for a high quality printer, at the moment I have a £60 special. The print quality is quite poor and also it doesnt match the colour between the copy and the original scanned document very well. I have a budget of between £200 - £400. What sort of printers should I be looking at?

What sort of volumes are you doing and what size of paper do you need?
Laser/Inkjet? Is speed an issue?
400 quid buys a lot of printer, is it for an office?
60 quid gets you a Canon 4300 which I find flawless for photos, cd and dvds and normal letter and stuff but if you need beefier, a few more details would be handy

I recently bought the Canon Pixma iP4500, best £60 I've spent for a while, can't fault it.

Canon PIXMA iP4500 - Printer - colour - duplex - ink-jet - Legal, A4 - up to 31 ppm (mono) / up to 24 ppm (colour) - capacity: 300 sheets - USB - Ebuyer

For £400 you're looking at A3 printers, something like the Pixma Pro 9000/8c.

Canon Pixma Pro 9000/8c 16ppm 4800 dpi x 2400 dpi USB - Ebuyer

Currently own the Canon MP600R all in one, it's very good. Has both Wireless and wired rj-45 network connection, as well as the standard USB 2.0 port. Even will do duplex printing on paper for you, and has a cartridge that will hold up to 150 pieces of paper.

PC World UK Computer Superstore - Buy cheap computers, laptops, desktop PCs, printers, LCD TVs, sat nav, digital cameras and more..

Not the cheapest, but if your in a hurry to get one.
