Very nice. It's been said the refresh came due to Intel phasing out the chip the old models were using and Apple wanted to maintain a supply. This means there could be another refresh ahead on the normal schedule.

Another question, would there actually be any benefit or saving by buying a Mac from say the US ?
And more importantly would they work on UK power (talking about Mac Books etc)

Sonic,
Yes it's worth getting one in the US, especially with exchange rates the way they are. I bought a MacBook last May in NY and saved over £100. Check prices before you go though to check you can still make a good saving. The warranty is international for 12 months and Applecare (extended warranty) is international too I believe. Or check out Apple's refurb store for lower prices!
All works fine except there is no £ (pound) sign on key number 3 but if you set the keyboard to British it gives you a £ sign anyway. You will need the plug adapter (Ebay) for neatness (or any US to UK adapter would do the job) - I had one spare anyway off an old iBook, they're all the same including the iPod USB charger plug.
Hope this helps!!
Pete.
