Default Intel Dualcore 1.6ghz or AMD Athlon 64x2 Dualcore 5000

Chaps

Looking at buying a Dell and for the same price i can get either of these processors.

What do you think?

The AMD one also has a better spec compared to the intel at the same price ie. twice the ram, bigger hard drive etc.

Lost touch with proccessors so any advice would be good.

How fast does the AMD 5000 run at?

Regards
Jonathan

If it's got twice the RAM and more memory go for the AMD.

It's still good, fast CPU and runs at 2.6Ghz

One thing to be aware of - make sure you run the Windows XP hotfix to enable multi-processor throttling, or else the system won't be running as efficiently or as quick as it should.
