I've been trying to find this out as well. My kids have been searching on-line for jobs and often the application is in a pdf format and it would be so much easier if they could edit it or switch it to a Word type document.

I found Adobe software too expensive but there is some cheaper stuff that, I am told, does the job. Haven't come across any freebie stuff that works though. If Search worked properly that would help because it was posted on here some months back. Let me know if you get an answer!! d

There didn't used to be. I would put it through OCR scanner software to (messily) convert it back to Word again. Interesting if there is now.

I found this which I had kept in Favourites.

Anyone know anything about it?

The program you read pdf files is called "Adobe Acrobat Reader", the one which you write and read is called "Adobe Acrobat"

Adobe Acrobat, will allow you to save a pdf to a word document file and revert it back again.

Something to be aware of is that when a PDF document is created it is possible to set security settings preventing alterations to the document, extracting sections of the document, printing the document, etc.. Be aware of this if you find PDF editing software that doesn't appear to work - it may be the document security properties that are preventing you from editing it.
