GOOD VIDEO EDITING SOFTWARE?
I've recently bought a Sony HDD camcorder and want to get hold of some good video editing software.
Can anyone give me details / info of any free software that's out there that's either free or quite cheap?
Cheers

Has the pinnacle software improved then? Nice set of features, but the last versions I tried were bug ridden, flaky, and generally unusable. The tech support was rubbish too.
Premiere Elements is very good, as is SpeedEdit (which I'm using now, although that costs a fair bit more).

Pinnacle is ok, but you quickly realise it's limits if you want to do some serious editing. I've been told that Adobe Premier Pro is the dogs danglies, but can I find a copy within my "Ehem" price range

Guys,
Thought I would dive in here as this thread is relevant to me.
Just tried to load up Adobe Premier and got the error message "must be run on a device using the SSEC instruction set (or summat like that)".
STi Scooby, you talk about "running a good spec PC". What do you have in mind exactly? Dual core? I don't want to spend a load of dosh on a new PC/components unless I abolutely have to.
One more thing: anyone any views on Ulead Media Studio Pro please?
Many thanks
WB

I have always preferred Premiere used to use version 6 quite a few years ago (read 10 years lol)
Always preferred it as it was easy to do pretty much everything I wanted to do
