I need a device that will allow me to play downloaded movies on my TV wirelessly.

I am considering something like the Netgear EVA8000.

Cant really justify a Media PC/HTPC.

I've got the older non wireless ones connected to a nas on my network and it does the job just fine.

 

got a Ziova CS505 and a small 2 disc NAS ~ a thecus N2100 ( so I don't have to have any computers on at all ).

Works a treat

Unless your wireless signal is spot on, you'll be better using ethernet over power if possible for A/V, music is less of an issue..
