Sharing a printer on a home network
Want to know if I can access the printer connected to my main pc from my laptop via the adsl router?
Setup is: Netgear ADSL modem router (DM602) connected to main PC via a USB cable. Netgear wireless access point (WG602) connected to the ethernet port of the router. Netgear 54g wirless card in laptop.
Both pc's can use the broadband connection at the same time, but is there a way that I can print off stuff from my laptop on the printer connected to the other pc?
cheers
Bob

So its possible . . . .
But how / what do I do to configue it?
An idiots guide would be good
Is it just a case of selecting "share this printer" in control panel/printers.
BTW both PC's running XP.

So is it also possible to send files / folders or Jpegs etc between the 2 pc's?

Yup, right click on your printer and select "share this printer"
don't forget you must have file and printer sharing turned on via the properties of your "network card" in control panel/network connections

It's just as you say (re: control panel); Click Start -> Control Panel -> Printers. Right-click on the printer you want to share, and click "Sharing...". On the "Sharing" tab, click the "Share this printer" button and give it a name.
Yes, you can also share files. You can share folders to help do this. Create the folder you want to share (or use an existing one), and right-click on it. Click "Sharing and Security". On the "Sharing" tab, click the "Share this folder on a network" button, and give it a name.
