Let us know what you think of the wii. when I've played one it was great for 10 mins then I realised the games are crap.

I ended up buying a U.S wii from play-asia.com thereby avoiding the wait for PAL releases also the games are often cheaper thanks to the weak dollar at the moment. Decent games include super paper mario, wario ware smooth moves, excite truck, trauma centre, elebits (eledees), Kororinpa (although mercury meltdown should supercede this). Mario party 8 is OK as is the mario charged strikers football game provided you've got someone else to play with, Zelda is good if you've got the time but pales next to ocarina of time
The component cable is well worth it for a crisper picture and 480 resolution through HD TVs.
The virtual console servive allows a trip down memory lane but the games are overpriced compared to the 360 marketplace.

As above component cable is an absolute must.

However, it's the first zelda game I have never completed, my wii got powered off on new years day and hasn't been on since, and I'm not sure it will, at the least for quite a while.

it varies depending on the game. It tells you which one is required before you download it...

Gamecube wavebird controllers are the dogs danglies btw...

That's a point worth noting - to any Wii owners who haven't played Resident Evil IV - go and get it when its released shortly.

Its quality and genuinely creepy.
