Looking to change my ISP as i am presently paying too much with Freeserve (Now orange) but i am getting around 8mb.
Sky have sent through a deal for up to 8mb for £5 per month, has anyone used sky broadbrand and are they any good it does seem cheap!!

Thanks.

I'm with Sky.

Had loads of hassle getting the router delivered, but once it arrived it has been superb.

Been with them since January and haven't noticed any down time at all and I use it pretty much every evening and it is on virtually all weekend if we are at home.

Download speed is currently about 4.2Mb which is pretty good considering my exchange (about 2miles away) is only capable of spewing out 4.5Mb at the present time.

I would recommend them.

sorry buddy, but were with sky and its been a nightmare from day 1

firstly,we were without internet for 16 days because of the mac code F**k up,they swapped it over from aol to sky and didint send the router

second, the router we recieved wouldnt work

third,replacement router wouldnt work

spent four hours getting online,as the disc didnt configure the computer,so had to be done manually with over the phone assistance!

Download speeds on torrent sites, forget it we have 8mb broadband,or so we are told,we are getting between 2-13 kb download speed, and connection via wireless is a mare, keeps loseing connection

sky are well known for "strangling" downloads from torrent sites,do a search and there are loads of threads on internet forums about this

AVOID at all costs,we are in the middle of returning to AOL

id personally look at getting virgin media. i was with bt for 18/19 months and it was a horrible circumstance. always running at low speeds, sometimes without a connection at all.

several phonecalls and arguments later id had enough. wasnt any good going with another company that uses bt's landline as it was the physical line at fault.

so i had a quick look at virgin media, £18 a month after the offer ends for a 2mb connection through cable. not had any problems in the few weeks ive had it, and i download at my connection capability.

easy peasy to sign up online too, and very cheap to install the necessary wires etc. friendly staff, and easy when on the phone too.

total opposite of b.t and theyre indian call centres.
