Strange BT Internet email problem
Hello
I have had BT Internet services since January. I have a PC with Win XP SP2 and Outlook 2003 SP2. I have had a problem since last Thursday with my email account in that when i click send/receive i get an error saying "Outlook is unable to contact your incoming POP3 email server".
Now I have not made any changes to the Outlook account config, not added any MS updates, not changed any Norton settings or anything else since last Thursday. My wife has her account set up on her login through Outlook and it works fine. I can log into my BT/Yahoo email account with the same password as always and its fine (from the error its not an authentication problem by the look). I have also not changed any setup on the BT Home Hub.
I can ping the POP3 server from my login and also see it with nslookup....
>ping mail.btinternet.com

Has anyone got any ideas what might be going wrong ? I tried to set up a new account in Outlook and it did the same thing.
