Question Which ICT Qualification?

Hello Everyone,
I am thinking about doing a course at my local college, I am quite Computer litterate but would like to learn more about the computer as a system. EG, not just be good at using a computer, but be able to know what everything means and be able to fix things. It is hard to explain what I mean, but I would like to know things like a professional computer technician would know. What I need to know is; is there a name for things like this or a certain qualification.

Thanks for any info,
Scott.

There is a generic A+ certification, then there are venor specific ones. HP certification is very good and is recognised in the industry.

Yeah, the CompTIA A+ certification is good for learning purely about PC's, their architecture and how it all works, and how to troubleshoot. Done the course myself but thought it went to much into depth about some things that you'll never need to know.
