wi-fi radar - free software d/load
YouTube - How to get Free WiFi access anywhere, anytime
Click on the above link where you will find a short video which has been uploaded to " youtube " telling all about the workings off this bit off software that will allow you to open up any wi-fi point and get your laptop / pda connected up to the net.
have not used this software myself just came across it whilst searching out a media player for my TOMTOM one v2 unit, but must admitt it looks a very handy thing to have on your laptop, its a very short d/load and the best bit is thats its all totally FREE !!!
dont even have a laptop or pda with internet access so unfortunately its not going to be of any use to myself but thought I would give a link to it just incase it is off any interest to others.
just wonder what would be involved in getting connnected etc to another wi-fi connection without this particular bit off software ??
do appreciatte that any secure wi-fi point would not be able to be hooked up with but from what I have seen recently on a tv programme a lot of users dont bother about securing there networks ??
download it from Makayama Interactive
let me know how you get on ??!!
cheers,
john

You don't need fancy s/w to "borrow" other peoples unsecured wireless networks, you can just search with your windows wireless network tool and connect to any you find, I think he's just got a nice GUI thats possibly full of spyware !!!

Okay thanks mate, not being an expert on this side off things just wonder what this particular software does that most modern pc will do themselves then ?? ie using windows own wireless network tool.

GUI = graphical user interface (I think) basically it simplifies all the hard work and hides all the computer programming into an easy to use screen, that little radar thing looks good but is just a nicer way of showing the windows type wireless network connections, so it's probably quite handy in that respect.
I use network stumbler to browse our neighbourhood networks, you get more indepth information but I'm not into running linux cracking apps to unlock WEPS.

Also be aware that if you are using the techniques to gain access to other people's wifi networks, then you are committing an offence under the Computer Misuse Act. OK, the CMA isn't the greatest piece of legislation, but it can still land you in trouble.
