Login Scripts & Passwords

Login Scripts & Passwords
Is there an environmental variable or command that you can use in a login script that supresses the requirement for a password?
I have a login script that when it runs calls another program but that program needs to know the u/name AND password of the person logging into it
But for obvious reasons, can't hardcode the password and want this app to run in the background without a popup requesting a password.
This would be for a Windows NT login script (W2K3 domain actually)
Banging head against wall here!

Yep.. registry entry will do it.
Run Regedit and go to the Edit menu, select 'Find' then type DefaultUserName. The purpose is to get to the correct place within the registry before you start configuring. N.B. You may have to press F3. You will have succeed when you see HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\winlogon.
If Method 1 fails then open Regedit and drill down to: HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\winlogon
If AutoAdminLogon exists then Double Click on AutoAdminLogon and set value =1 (Numeric 1)
If AutoAdminLogon does NOT exist then go to: Edit (Menu), New, String Value, Type AutoAdminLogon
In regedit, you need to go to the EDIT menu, New, String Value type DefaultPassword.
To get AutoAdminLogon to work you need to add DefaultPassword to the same WINLOGON area. Set the password to what ever it needs to be for the DefaultUserName to logon successfully.
Used to do this on some servers that wern't important
Hope this helps
