SKY Broadband
Ive read some posts on here that dont really rave on about it, been considering it for a while but not convinced atm its that good. Was just after an update really on peoples experiences/opinions? Also can I not just get a new username and password and reconfig my old router, read that doing the replacement causes hassle.
Cheers

I've had it for a few months now. How good peoples impressions are are dependent on how smoothly the migration went ( mine was seamless ) and how much you need to contact the support people.
As usual with these things there was a steep learning curve and many issues at the start of service, but I believe things are straightening out now.
You can get the username/password *once you have the provided router* via url injection or by flashing the firmware to a generic netgear one. I've done this and have had a stable fast connection for some time on my Linksys.
Also ... if you aren't already on a ADSL2+ service then it's worth picking up a filtered faceplate from adslnation. The speed/stability is tied directly to the line quality.

Had it a few months as well.
Service was migrated bang on date, unfortuately the router didn't arrive until a week after that date
In terms of up-time and speed, can't fault it. Although I have never been able to log into the Sky Portal and thus have never been able to access/use my Sky email address (thank **** for gmail! )
I had a few issues setting up the wireless stuff, which I posted about on here but once I'd got the PC linked it's been fine ever since.
Been tempted to do the bios flash thing but too worried I'd mess it up

you can do it via url injection too .... I'll see if I can find the destructions..
Never bothered with the portal stuff tbh
I have a trivial html page you can open to do :
sets the noise margin in dB
enables/kills Telnet deamon
gets advanced stats
extracts username and password
... if anyone would like... pm me
