UK prices say :
749/879/999
Have the black and the white 2.0 come down in price a bit?
And is the only difference between bacl and white the 120gb HDD? Bit odd

So what's the diff between the old 2.0Ghz and the new ones ?
I've got an old 2.0Ghz. I presume the processor uses a new core.
JimClark ~ Where did you find that pic, it's fantastic

Looks to me that the ONLY difference is they are now using 'Core 2 Duo'
I wish the black ones were cheaper. I'm quite happy with my 1,83 and self-installed 160gb HDD and 1gb RAM though

With regards to the difference between Core Duo and Core 2 Duo, a one of the tech chaps here said:
the Core 2 Duo has a smaller mechanism (assume they mean the chip itself is smaller), it's a bit faster, and has a 64-bit core.

I'm at Xtreme Scoobies getting my clutch done tomorrow but will try and put a detailed overview up on Friday or Monday when I'm back in at MacWarehouse.
From what I know the new processor is beefier thats the main difference.
The old ones are very unlikely to arrive and we've been advised we may even have stock this week. Do get your orders in tomorrow as we are exepcting a huge demand on these as the backlog was pretty big on the outgoing ones.
PM me if you need any help.

Bought a new Macbook (2ghz, dual intel, 1gb ram, 60gn hard drive) in the U.S end of September. Its superb. Flies along, does everything you need it too. Plays Football Manager really well also (for those that play it)
Only downside is it is on its way for repair shortly as mine needs a new heatsink. A few have experienced random shutdowns despite Apple suggesting the new software updates will fix it. Still it looks cool
I paid $1400.00 for mine, the Pro only really offered a bigger screen and a slightly bigger processor over and above what I got. Suffice to say I'm well happy with it

So can anyone here who has been through the thought process of MB vs MBP give me their reason behind their choice.
The fact the MBP has 15" screen, dedicated graphics card, pcmcia (or whatever it is) slot, backlit keyboard, RAM upto 3gb (not likely for me).
Is it worth the extra £400+ for it.... Allan - Any thoughts?
Half of me thinks I might as well save the cash (buy a xbox 360) but the other half is thinking long term and i might regret getting the MB...
I use a G5 dual 2.5 day to day and don't really plan to retire that so the laptop will be for out and about use (client sites, demos) and as a back up. Also working downstairs in the lounge rather than sat my desk through the evening...
Decisions decisions - I wont really play much in the way of games *but* having the option might be nice
I wonder what MWSF will bring - Do we expect any hardware updates?
I fell like I'm constantl hanging on now for the next model. Damn these intel things...

My decision was simple. The only games I play will run fine on the Intel graphics and a dual core 1.8ghz machine.
Plus the latest SMC firmware seems to have fixed my random shut-downs....so far so good.

I played with both side by side...running safari, mail, itunes, a game (the macstore let me load my own game onto both on each machine in Florida!) and I can honestly say the only difference I noticed was the screen size. Now for me (as I travel loads) the slightly smalled Macbook is perfect on flights and is pretty compact considering its power
I'd go Macbook and spec it up with extra ram...I'm glad I did!
