My first hard drive was 60mb - although it was 2.5" and cost £200

I'm sure some of the geeks on here can beat that!!

My first hard drive was 5meg!!!! cant remember but I think it was made by Seagate and was 5 1/4 inches high!

I found a Conner hard drive a few weeks ago while cleaning out some boxes in the loft, which was 1 gig!

I bought a 52MB hard drive for my Amiga back in about 91. Admittedly it had 2MB of extra memory in as well, but set me back £486

In my last place, we found 4 x ~240mb SCSI hard disks. They were 5 1/4 inch full height jobs. We fitted them in a huge tower and used as a fileserver. When powered up, the lights dimmed and the whole thing vibrated like crazy.

Ah, what geeky fun

I remember fitting 20MB drives in PCs when I worked in a PC bild workshop (1987). In my first PC the 40MB drive had to be split into two partitions as DOS 3.3 would only address 33MB volumes.
